Partnership Against Domestic Violence
Domestic violence has become a major problem in our community. Most of the women who are attacked never report it to the authorities. For those who do, Partnership Against Domestic Violence provides a safe place for them to recover and to start their lives over. Many of the women we serve have no one else encouraging them to keep moving forward. Their boyfriend or husband has isolated them to the point where all of their family members have been completely cut off. We have learned that victims of domestic violence are more likely not to return to their abuser when they are surrounded by a community of supporters. We are that community of supporters. One of our board members said it best, “If not now, when? If not us, who?” We must act today in order to impact the lives of domestic violence survivors. There are several ways that you can choose to serve: administration, children’s programs, tutor/homework helper, evening children’s activities, crisis line, legal advocate, support groups or community outreach.
