Pause

Another way to grow in your relationship with God is by gathering and doing life with other believers. Through praising, praying, learning from scripture, and being in God’s presence together, we receive many benefits! Pause in God’s presence and consider small groups and church services you’ve attended and the good things you experienced there.

Matthew 7:21-23 NIV
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’”

What’s on your mind after reading today’s passage? What is the Holy Spirit saying to you? 

To help us get perspective on this passage, let’s remember that these verses are near the end of an entire sermon. Near the beginning of it, we read some similar words telling us that to fulfill the law perfectly, we would have to do an even better job of it than the Pharisees, who were the experts of the time!  

The focus here is being known by Jesus. Does Jesus know you? Ask Him.   

 Take time to confess your need for a savior from your sin. Communicate your faith in Jesus to Him in a fresh way today.
